Cold pressed juices contain more enzymes, vitamins and minerals than your standard juice. This is a result of the fruit and vegetables being squashed/pressed instead of tiny blades cutting up the fruit which can overheat, oxidise the juice and result in a loss of nutrients. For me the results of a cold press juicer mean a much nicer texture; a thinner consistency. I also find it more convenient as cold pressed juices last up to three days in the fridge in airtight containers, so I can make a batch and not have to clean the juicer everyday! In the last year couple years, juices and smoothies have fastly become a go to for many of us who are health conscious or those just looking for something quick and satisfying. After giving up smoking this week, (I know what a disgusting habit it is and honestly I wish I’d never started) tomorrow I’m doing a full three week detox. As cold pressed juices will play a part in that, I thought I’d share some combinations I like to make.
1. BEET IT!
2. YELLOW OVER THERE
– Pak Choi
3. OH MY GOODNESS GREENS
– Kale/Spinach/Chard (any leafy greens)
I use the Keving’s Whole Slow Juicer, but there are many cheaper ones on the market, you just have to shop around.
Have you got any juice combos you think I’d like?
