Living in Jersey means that sometimes you are limited to what purchases you can make. I remember reading about Mario Badescu and his famous drying lotion years ago and wishing I could get my hands on it after convincing myself it was the ONLY product that was going to make my skin look like the model who’d just mentioned it in an interview. Although now it is available worldwide at the click of a finger, it wasn’t till last week that I purchased this nostalgia-inducing product I’d never actually owned. I originally went shopping to get H some more Marvis toothbrushes but they were sold out… not the sort of girl to leave empty handed, here are my first impressions of my mini haul.
With the Anti Acne Serum you’re advised to spread just a thin layer over the area affected in the evening. This serum can be used to prevent breakouts as it contains salicylic acid. This serum is not drying in the slightest and it is really light wait. I have sensitive skin and this product doesn’t irritate my skin which I had been a bit worried about, I love that it’s clear aswell… H didn’t even know I had it on! This serum hasn’t given me instant results but I’m hoping I will see more noticeable result if I keep using it.
Ok, don’t walk into Harvey Nichols and start shaking the bottles… it’s meant to be separated! You want the pink sediment to be at the bottom and a clear liquid to be at the top. Don’t worry though if you do shake it just leave it to stand until it separate again. With this product, you simply follow your skincare routine as usual and then dip a cotton bud all the way down into the pink liquid and then dab on to your spot(s). This stuff rocks! You know those pesky painful spots, the raised red ones that you want to be able to pop but there’s no whitehead and even makeup doesn’t make them less noticeable (sorry if thats TMI).. well this stuff noticeably shrinks spots over night. It really does! Although when you go to bed you’ll resemble someone who has mild chicken pox, it has really impressed me. I’m so happy I bought this.
After owning a Clarisonic for some time, I always felt it was too harsh on my skin, If I wasn’t scrubbing hard.. I didn’t feel it was doing anything so it’s safe to say it rarely gets used. I decide to try the Foreo Luna Play as it’s marketed for travel (its the same size as a cotton pad!) and therefore had a cheaper price point. I think this is a great way of trying it out. With a none rechargeable battery that last for 100 uses you definitely have enough time to see if it’s for you or not, and for £29 why not! Foreo products are made out of silicone and it’s ‘bristles’ resist bacteria build up which makes this product really hygienic. The are two different types of bristles, the ones nearer the top give a deeper clean (great around the nose) and the other are perfect for more sensitive areas like the cheeks. The foreo leaves my skin so soft and I love how it can be used with the skincare products already in my stash.
I’ll keep you updated on how I get on with them, have you tried any of these?
