After loving the Portelet Bay Cafe last year, we couldn’t help but head down to this beautiful spot as soon as the weather started to brighten up. H planned date night and I couldn’t have been happier with his choice of restaurant, I mean look at the view!
The restaurant itself is very simple but the handpicked flowers and friendly staff give the place charm. The menu is small but they do the menu well, it’s on the pricier side for a beach cafe which isn’t open till late but the authentic, wood fire pizza’s are delicious and I highly recommend a glass of Malbec or a cold IPA to start.
After the walk down you might think that garlic bread to share and a pizza each is a the answer to all your problems, the garlic bread is really tasty but you should know that the food is ready so quickly you almost end up with 3 pizza’s for two! Not that this a bad thing, we were more than happy to finish off our plates which included a prosciutto and pesto pizza each. The thin crispy base which is topped with gorgeous, fresh ingredients truly leaves you satisfied but not feeling heavy. The chilli oil adds a kick which is the perfect complimentary side. The Portelet Bay Cafe is a great place for a couple, a family or a group of friends the environment is so welcoming and the food will impress even the fussiest of kids or adults!
Definitely a spot for a sunny, lazy afternoon.
