I’ve decided to swap autumnal red, my favourite shade of navy this party season for a simple starred manicure. I don’t have the patience for nail art, and trying to get glitter polish off is something I still haven’t quite got the hang of. But this was so easy, subtly eye- catching and the perfect festive mani.
What you’ll need:
- Small star confetti, I got mine at a garden center.
- Base coat of your choice, I use this one.
- A barely there nude, I used Ballet Slippers by Essie as it’s one of my favourites
- A thick clear top coat, nothing beats Seche Vite.
- Tweezers (optional)
STEP ONE | Apply a base coat to your nails.
STEP TWO | Apply two layers of the nude nail varnish you chose. I like Ballet Slippers because it’s translucent, it evens out the nails, without providing too much coverage and I think that’s key to this look.
STEP THREE | Whilst the second coat is still drying, take one confetti star and apply it onto the center of the nail at near the nail bed. I found it easiest to pick up the star with a pair of tweezers and then drop it in place and tap down on the star slightly so it stays in place.
STEP FOUR | Liberally apply your topcoat. The thicker your top coat, the longer your stars will stay on!
