I can’t believe that September will be here later this week, I find myself reflecting back over the past few months. Thinking about some of the changes I’ve made and continued with after setting myself these monthly goals, and I can honestly say I’m very happy. I still get stressed easily, but I’m prone to chronic stress so I try not to dwell on it. But overall I believe I have made some really positive changes for myself. We still have a couple of months before the end of the year, so I won’t be giving up now. Here are my September goals.
BE MINDFUL OF MY POSTURE
I have never had great posture, I don’t know whether I can blame my hypermobility or my overly dipped lower back. I rarely catch my reflection and see my shoulders pushed back and my neck tall and straight. For the last couple of weeks, I have been conscious of my posture more than ever before, but this month, I’ll endeavour to stand up straight and me mindful of the alignment of my body.
TRACK MY SPENDING
Boy, do I need to start tracking my spending. I mean I don’t think there’s anyone out there that can’t benefit from it. At a guess, I would estimate I spend the majority of my income on food, but do I? Where does the rest of my income disappear to? I’ve re-read this post and I think I might give Cleo a go- it seems a reasonably easy way to keep track!
SPEAK LESS, LISTEN MORE
I have this really bad habit. And Danny and my best friends are often on the other end of it. Something they can all agree on it that I talk A LOT. It’s not that I don’t listen, it’s that I always have a lot to say, and maybe I’m getting worse as I’m noticing it at the moment too. This month and hopefully going forward, I’m going to listen first.
DRINK MORE WATER
I’ve always loved water, I have no problem drinking it, but I’ve found myself reaching for a few more diet cokes than normal- as in daily diet cokes which I never used to do. As a result, I have probably been drinking slightly less water than I have in the past. I want to make a conscious effort to drink 2-3 Litres a day, even if some of that is in the form of herbal teas.
MAKE MORE TIME FOR HOBBIES
For a short time, I made more time for hobbies and I really enjoyed it. Blogging started out at a hobby but now I’m lucky it’s turned into a side hustle. That left a bit of a hole when it came to doing stuff purely for the fun of it. I think I need to get myself a colouring book or something similar and prioritise my time even better.
